how we started

Picture
Hailing from the beautiful Willamette Valley, Savannah Gentry and Carolyn Quick met while attending the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance. Upon the completion of their respective Masters Degrees, the pair moved back to Oregon and reconnected with the intent of expanding the reach of classical music.

With a focus on the representation, performance, and incorporation of female-identifying and underrepresented composers, Persisting Sound seeks to bring a fresh perspective to those who have previously lived in anonymity and silence; and - through the performance of these works - introduce contemporary classical music to new audiences in the hopes of encouraging greater discussion and inclusivity within the local arts community.
